The country is very flat and many rivers pass through the land. Heavy rainfalls and the thaw from the Himalayan snow are the cause of flooding throughout the land. Not only is the harvest destroyed, but also the fragile houses. People don’t have much shelter during the cold winds from the Himalaya’s during the winter. In these desperate situations the families of school children receive help through food supplies and warm blankets.
